Just played first 2 player game of this set. Learned that Ambassador / Thief does not work well together... Steal your copper, give your copper back, does not sort my deck at all. Spy / Thief works much better. Would be quite good in 3-4 player game. Minion chains very well, but game was won by action light Bureaucrat / Cutpurse deck.

How were you able to play Ambassador / Thief during the same turn? or are you just saying they don't fit as well in the same deck...

I don't know that the Ambassador and Thief should really have any synergy. I see the Ambassador as a viable way to not only eliminate curses you may have acquired, but also to distribute them to your opponents. The Thief, in my experience, is valuable early game to strip treasure from the opponents and gain it yourself, but later in the game, most of the time it is really just a minor nuisance, especially with a secret chamber around.

Yeah, I did not play ambassador and thief during the same turn. Just saying that they did not work well together. For some reason I thought that I would steal the copper from my opponent using thief and give them my crap using ambassador leaving them with a double bad deck. What I soon realized was that the crap I wanted to give away with ambassador included the copper that I was filling my deck with.

Played with three players. Two of us got 5/2 distribution in the first round and bought saboteurs. The first player that was able to play the saboteur ended up running the game, by a lot. Most of the cards didn't end up being useful because there was no solid defense against saboteur. Adding a moat or lighthouse might make this more balanced.
